Dems Have Lost the Hogs & Heifers Voters

They were virtually 100% Hillary voters anyway, but an overwhelming majority of them hated Bush so much that they decided to give Barack Obama a chance.
Buyer’s Remorse is most intense within this biker and NASCAR-type that I love to drink and carouse with and the Hate Snowball that grew daily for Bush is now consuming President Obama too and I wanted to learn more about these people who are peeling away from Dems in droves with each passing hour.
A friend and a loyal reader has been meeting me downtown at Hogs & Heifers lately and I’ve popped in there alone too to just shoot the shit with it’s largely biker-type crowd interspersed with some tourists and some wannabees too.
Mid-life crisis Harley dudes are welcomed by all with a sort of sad tip of their bandanas and tattoos for those grown men playing trick or treats in biker gear.
If you call ‘em White Trash Voters, they’re very proud to wear the moniker. Many are still rebelling but can’t articulate too well exactly what they’re still rebelling against.
Ms Jackson is a big fan of mine, but may not ‘get’ me and my writings!
Authority for sure, but most lead surprising dull and normal lives covering the broadest swath of the American workforce; both blue and white collar.
Feeling nothing of bailouts in their own pockets, they wonder why they are invisible to the political class in both parties.
I wonder that too. I wonder why they even bother to vote.
As a group here, these are the people who absolutely loathe Dina Titus and have no problem telling you why they hate her: Her phony affected southern accent and her insufferable lecturing qualities that tells them ‘she’ll tell them what’s good for them’ while she and her husband pocket nearly a half million bucks per year in taxpayer paid salaries and benefits.
Dems have lost all of these voters in 2010!
I’ve never heard a good word about anything or anyone named ‘Reid’ from these people, but that doesn’t mean they’re voting for their respective opponents either.
They all love Oscar! and seem to like Shelley Berkley and some of their local reps, but they are so distant and so distanced from the political elites in both parties that I’m not sure if they’re even going to vote this year.
Euro-white voters at the lower tiers of the economic scale are the hardest to get off the sofa and off of the barstool and out to vote in the best of times and many would fit comfortably into the ‘Trash’ group. Economic calamity ensures that they are the least likely group to vote in 2010 because no one cares about them except in the days leading up to elections. At least back home, a voting stub would get you a beer bought by your local precinct captain on Election Night; here, there is nothing solid to motivate people to civically participate this time around except the people who hate either Harry or Sharron, or both.
‘Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me’, is a strong undercurrent in this cycle too. It’s been 20 years since anyone made a credible pitch to these voters.
When was the last time you saw a biker/NASCAR-type in a political ad?
Harry Reid desperately needs them to come out for him; Sharron Angle would sure welcome their help too—neither can depend on either because they have never spoken to or for them directly, much less addressed them personally.
This guy loves his old lady and her big, huge monster bush, but he ‘aint votin’ Dem this year!
I’d bet that no 2010 candidate in Nevada has stopped by to campaign at the Hogs & Heifers Saloon in Las Vegas.
Whether these voters decide to come out on November 2nd is anyone’s guess, and even after 31 years of participation, I can’t fathom a guess as to what they may or may not do at the voting booth this cycle…
…because no one in either party has paid any attention to these voters in two decades, some candidates will regret that oversight on November 3rd.
