They’re Lying Files: No, nothing in the Stupak Amendment changes anything except that it finally closes the Medicaid loophole that allowed states to offer taxpayer funded abortions in defiance of the 1976 Hyde Amendment.

All Stupak says that if you require a taxpayer subsidy to buy insurance on an exchange, that no federal funds for elective abortion are available to you; it’s Hyde with teeth that closes the Medicaid exception.

The pro-choice folks actually said that women can’t possibly do the ‘rider’ because they never ‘plan’ for abortions and that’s as true as no one ever ‘plans’ to get sick either (talk about an idiotic argument!). They’re just really angry now that an amendment slipped in under their radar that will have to be included now in any final bill if passage is desired.

70%+ of America wants Pitts-Stupak in there; you don’t dismiss 70%.

If you’re in your childbearing years and require taxpayers to subsidize your health insurance, elective abortion isn’t covered—just as it hasn’t been since 1976—so buy the rider!

What aren’t you getting about this?

All Pitts-Stupak needs from the US Senate is the exact same bill with a single sentence added requiring insurers to offer the ‘rider’.  Yep, it’s just that simple folks! Include that sentence, and I fully support it too. Five states already require the offer of the ‘rider’!

Ah, but this is exposing their their real agenda which is keeping open the Medicaid option which clearly violates the spirit of Hyde and has been a thorn in pro-lifers for 30 years; they won’t talk about that though.

Again, we’re talking about elective not therapeutic abortions which are clearly covered.

I really thought it would be immigration that sunk healthcare ‘reform’; it could be abortion that does it before Christmas!

How pro-Life Sen Harry Reid handles this will be high drama and great political theater!  Grab a beer, get some popcorn, and just sit back and watch the fireworks!

He refuses to share anything so we have to wonder out loud if the FBI is much more involved in this one now too.

Cheer-Up Files: Yes, I’ve been a very harsh critic of Harry and Congress, especially with healthcare.  As a partisan with three decades behind me, I know that affects every office on the 2010 ballot and frankly, I’m very angry at how poorly supposedly brilliant street-fighter Harry Reid has handled everything since the 2008 election!

Yeah, Burt & Ernie are ‘angry’ at Sen Harry Reid too!  Celebrating their 40th anniversary this week, can we finally stop calling them ‘friends’ and admit they’re more than just ‘friends’?

BUT…there is hope, so cheer up! If you’re running for an AD or SD seat, you had better not depend on NVDEMS  because those folks completely fall apart when the copier is jammed and don’t know what to do!  So, you had better know your own AD or SD! I mean really know it; back and forth, upside down, backward and forward! Are bus stops clean?  How is bus service?  Are you seeing graffiti around? Is there a lot of crap in driveways and backyards? Is traffic bad? Gangbangers hanging around? Lots of foreclosed homes? Is Metro around…?

This is as local as it gets, it’s very parochial stuff, but these are the things your voters are always concerned about! Know how to talk about these types of issues when you meet your voter and write your web & handout content accordingly.

Be Forewarned Files: I will grab anyone in either party by the shoulders and shake the livin’ shit out of them if I read any content that tells me just how much the candidate loves ‘the children’, or ’seniors’; who doesn’t love both?  Tell us instead what you know about your area and what you’d like to do about the issues within it!

Do that, and you’ll win your office!

Carissa Snedeker Files: Carissa and I couldn’t be more different types of Dems—I think she’s actually an NP now, disgusted with the local and national Democratic Parties—but yes, I really like this woman and always have.

She is always on the side of reform and always supported transparency.

I don’t ever recall being in full agreement with her on anything. She was hyper-Hillary, I was over-the-top Obama, she is way to my left, I am too centrist for her. But, if you were a Dem partisan and needed a big job done, you could always trust her to get it done; she should be running Dem campaigns up north. No vacillation, no bullshit; just focused and she delivers. I love people like that! I’m the type who would much rather seek forgiveness than ask permission, because nothing ever gets done when you step into the sludge of committees and delay-after-delay and don’t actually lead people.

She can argue a point probably better than anyone in this state!  She’s the Ronni Council of the Northlands! Why those two have never teamed up is a mystery to me.

I think she missed her calling.  She could have easily become a lawyer and she should be a lobbyist! Heaven help those who would be dealing with her in Carson City or Washington DC!  You lobbying firms up there on the left aren’t seeing what’s right in front of your noses, you dumbshits.

Polite, respectful, funny, tenacious—when she believes, she will deliver.

And yes, Carissa is a very attractive woman too; some of our readers asked about her alluring photo and wanted to know more about her.  She’s far more than a great set of eyes and you folks up north have a gem in her!

Another Old Friend:  Popped in to say I was painting with too broad a brush regarding Nevada OSHA, and I will concur.  The fellas in the field really do try to do their best, but it is the appointed patronage people in Carson City that are the problem.

That I’ve walked around the CityCenter job site three times now (in hardhat, work boots, vest) and no one at Perini bothered to say anything to me, tells me we still have a long way to go!

Look, an organization is only as good as its leadership team. With OSHA, that begins with President Obama and USDOL Secretary Hilda Solis—they have the power to order subordinates to change the operational culture here.

Lovin’ It Files!: Yes, this is hysterical! Now we have two anti-R-J sites: one-trick-pony Justin ‘Ricky’ Gilbert’s for NVDEMS and the new one from Erin ‘Lucy’ Neff through her ProgressiveNow.org.

Who doesn’t know the R-J is right and the Sun is left? Will we get a corresponding assessment about how Brian Greenspun never endorses Republicans now too?

This is all Harry Reid Inc trying to prop up the failing old man. Both are on Harry’s payroll! Gilbert stands to collect some $160,000 from the old man before his defeat next year.

Kids, this does reek of desperation—Uncle Harry is dragging the entire ticket down with him, we all know that—and I fully understand doing things to justify your jobs and make it look like the ‘boss’ is getting his money’s worth, but Gilbert has done this and failed very badly at it before and Erin is biting the hand that once fed her.  I think we can scratch her ever writing again for Stephens where she should already be on CityLife’s pages.

Oh, I don’t know, how about trying something new folks?

I’ve never been a fan of even ever mentioning my opponents and have never seen a value in it. Ask anyone who knows me, behind closed doors is one thing, publicly, I don’t even acknowledge we reside in the same solar system and pretend I’ve never heard their names.

These sites only serve to get opponents’ names more well-known.

Example: Brian Sandoval has to spend a fortune re-introducing himself to NV voters, so does Sue Lowden and ‘lil Tark—but the knuckleheads on Valley View aren’t seeing that their efforts are doing nothing but mentioning those peoples’ names, saving Bri-Bri, Susie, & Danny boy, a boatload of money!

Dumb, dumb, dumb!
