Once again, we’re in the news nationally for what President Obama said, which for the second time was absolutely correct, but the mindless here just can’t cope with anything that isn’t incessant cheerleading!
My question on this is what about the boat makers? Don’t we grieve for them too? Aren’t we liberals supposed to be crying and wringing our hands for everyone, equally?
Just as with ‘Dolphin Safe Tuna’, no one is out there protesting for the poor tuna, now are they?
I’m seeing an odd-bedfellows marriage between the tuna and the boat makers with their own PAC, lobbyists, and everything, aren’t you?
Where are the ‘Tuna Rights’ people? Nobody gives a damn about the tuna, do they?
Remember when Obama killed the fly during an interview and the PETA people went nuts?
What about the damn tuna? What about the damn boat makers?
We really are the stupidest state in the union and the upcoming Obama visit will do nothing but reinforce why the entire state hates Harry Reid and why partisan Democrats are all but lighting candles to Jesus so that Dina Titus jumps in against him.
I really do think that the president is coming here on purpose. Think about it; who is going to get all of the local negative heat?
In thirty years at this and I don’t think I have ever read an unkinder cut than this! To be dismembered by your own members before you’ve even lost is perhaps the unkindest cut of all. He has no allies in his entire caucus; all have written him off as political poison and politically dead!:
And no, Richard Bryan won’t jump in and Jim Gibson won’t either because the seat is lost. Titus can though because even if she loses in June or November, she is heroine to the party for years to come and will get huge speaking, writing & lecture fees and limos, and nice hotels and she and Dr Tom can live large and travel around the country and pocket about 500K a year in fees alone!
I really do see her as a regular on MSNBC on The Morning Joe and all of their other shows too because they’re gonna love that twang at the national media level!
That’s some sweet $$$ waiting for her too!!!
She will burn like a neutron star for months and will have millions in a few days being the toast of the left-wing of the party which detests Harry Reid, in all 50 states!
State and national history are calling Dr Titus. Will you answer the call of history?

Jon Ralston-Sferrazza Files: He’s losing the local ratings war badly to 45 year old reruns of the Jetsons on Cartoon Network, but broke the story that ClarkDems and NVDEMS will be hosting Al Gore for the 2010 Jefferson-Jackson dinner on March 27th.
Having co-chaired the 2006 dinner, I can tell you that a few weeks is impossible to pull together such an event, but we’ll see; Roberta Lange is pretty good at the hostess thing–but NVDEMS is elbowing her and the CCDP out–but the odds for the third disastrous dinner in a row, are very high in a poor economy with our unions all but broke and unable to help as much as in years past.
More troubling is the Guest of Honor, Al Gore; more Clinton-centric stuff, more reminders to the current president how singularly Hillary the entire Reid family and Harry Reid Inc was in 2008 here.
Sure all of these missed-outs with no Green, HUD, or High Speed Rail monies were accidents, sure, anything you say. Going back to when the ancient Greeks invented democracy, how has everyone always punished their own within their own party for insubordination or misconduct?
They’ve taken the money away and removed the chance to take bows and look good back home! This is like the very first thing we learned on the streets of Chicago! To even think that any Cabinet Secretary would ever dare do this without the President’s express, personal permission, is delusional!
Everything is payback for 2008; there are no accidents in politics…ever!!
Plus, Gore will prattle on-and-on about climate change or global warming, or whatever he’s calling it that week, further reminding our voters how out of step with real people we’ve become in one short year!
The coverage will be disastrous! Couldn’t we find someone else; anyone else?

NVDEMS’ Website Files: It’s a nice refresh that I have championed for years but I have no use for their web provider who charges them obscene amounts to host the site and they still refuse to bid that work out for a better price.
At least Jill Derby’s picture is gone from the NVDEMS website!
Who does this woman’s hair? Fire ‘em!
What’s appalling is that even with the refresh, NVDEMS is still refusing to list all of the legitimate Democratic candidates on the site! That violates all of the principles of the Democratic Party in contested primaries and is not only counter-productive, but is counter-intuitive too!
That’s going to come back and bite us in the ass some day something fierce, and I apologize to all of our Dems that I have been unable to shame them into correct behavior in this regard, but promise you all that I will keep trying on your behalf!
Ummm…eboard, have you grown a set yet? This is your territory! You all swore to upload the party’s principles; will any of you stand up for what’s right here? Do you even understand your responsibilities to all of our candidates and to the long-term health and direction of the party?
Anyway, contested primaries help encourage stronger turnout and help get the base enthused! Hasn’t it always been party policy that the party apparatus remains neutral in contested primaries?
Guess what folks; some of these ‘non-anointed’ candidates are going to win and will force the ‘bosses’ to spend obscene amounts of money defending seats that should be shoo-ins!
Sam Lieberman, scoots around in his scooter, doing his cheerleading stuff, completely oblivious to how deep a rift this is causing and the destruction that it is doing to the party.
The NVDEMS eboard has completely abrogated its duties in favor of Assemblyman John Oceguera, who will not win his Speakership on the first vote—and faces challenges from multiple fronts and the loss of maybe 3 seats today—is a useless political hack who has done absolutely nothing for his district over all of these many years.
That’s why at 147 years old, he still hides behind his Mommy on his campaign website today:

Oceguera can’t name a single thing of value he’s ever done for his district, yet you’re listening to this guy?
Same with Steven Horsford, who all of the lobbyists, lawyers, and colleagues claim had a terrible first session and is viewed as weak and unskilled at this point. I’ll cut him some slack being his first time out, but he stands to lose a seat or two too and he and Oceguera playing Big City Party Bosses would be hysterical if it weren’t so destructive in the long term.

Illinois Woes: As I told you last week, the numbers were terrible for Tuesday’s first in the nation Dem primary in my home state. I zeroed-in on the three rural counties that have huge universities, and the drop off was enormous! All of the 2008 enthusiasm is completely gone and Barack’s seat will go to the GOP as will Biden’s in DE. We’ll also lose three Dem US House seats in IL in those ‘exurbs’ I’m always talking about.
The ‘exurbs’ are the regions on the very outer limit of big cities and are about half suburb, half rural. In Las Vegas, our exurbs would be Indian Springs, Logandale, and maybe Laughlin. We did so well in them the last two cycles but lost the confidence of those voters to Reid and Pelosi believing the entire country is as progressive extremist as they both are; they’re not.
There is such a thing as too much Botox, and the EPA will announce next week that Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s face has been declared a ‘brownfield’ toxic waste site. She hasn’t blinked since 1987, and has the look of 24/7 perpetual surprise!
Sidebar: For the first time ever, I am enthusiastically, 100% supporting the Speaker in sending up a stand alone repeal of the McCarran-Ferguson Act that gives anti-trust exemption to insurers. Folks, no health care reform is ever possible without forcing insurers to compete with each other for the first time in 60 years, first!
I’m still holding +7 for the GOP in the US Senate, but have kicked up the House losses to 46 seats that can’t be saved today and that’s trending upward and could/will break the 50’s; yes, I’m sorry, but that count includes Rep Titus in my prognostications today.
The US House is already gone for the Dems and there’s nothing we can do about it.

Lowden TV Blitz: Beautifully produced introductory ad and the first on TV always is a HUGE advantage; she is also right on the money in response and comment PR media blitzes, making me wonder if ‘lil Tark is even paying attention. All of the European-ethnics are on-board for Lowden now because that’s how they’re ancestors came here too; my Dem Mom even turned her head to watch and listen to Lowden’s ad.
That’s not a good sign for Harry this November.
I’ve got to ask what Tark and Angle have done with all of their money with so little cash on hand today? They’ve both pissed it away on staff and consultants and not a dime went into mailers, TV, or radio; they’ve completely lost their campaigns’ fiscal discipline when their primaries are their Super Bowls!
That’s just stupid and if you’ve got functioning brains, you’ll fire almost everyone tomorrow and put every single dime that comes in into mailers, or radio, or TV; preferably all three!
Sidebar: No, little offices like ‘judges’ don’t have back-offices in campaigns; that would generally be your wife and close friends in a ‘Kitchen Table’ campaign. On the mega offices however, you hire competent people and delegate out to them specific responsibilities. Your job is to be nothing more than the candidate meeting as many people as is humanly possible—again, that’s you’re only job.
Yet, some of you in both parties are micro-managing every stinkin’ detail of your campaigns and you’re going to lose because of it. Why hire people if you’re not going to listen to them or demand performance? All you need is a daily briefing as you as the candidate are the CEO, and no CEO micro-manages a corporation—he delegates and holds everyone to very high standards of performance…
…then you go out and meet as many voters as is humanly possible–stick something in their hands and ask them for their votes–up until the polls close on Election Day.
Again, that’s you’re only job candidates!
