Local Candidate Conflicts II 3/5/2010

Lest anyone think that just the Democrats have conflicts, let’s take a look take a look at the GOP who are running three of their candidates as Democrats, but who aren’t Democrats at all!
Beware of colossal phony ‘Democrat’, Don Chairez, who is really a Republican and a gigantic egotist!
Local attorney, Don Chairez, has decided that after an entire lifetime as a Republican, he would change parties and run against Clark County District Attorney David Roger as a Democrat.
Chairez’s claim to fame is his PISTOL initiative which I support and his running for every office he sees an opening for and always losing.
Don Chairez is infamous for his strong public defense of Big Betty H, Elizabeth Halverson’s, talents too!
No word if he digs chubby feet though.
Like a bad penny, he just keeps coming back and voters will flush him again this year.
We can thank former Governor Bob Miller for appointing him to an open judgeship in the 1990’s, giving birth to a hyper-egotist who simply doesn’t get it:
We just don’t like Don Chairez!
He was a Republican running against Shelley Berkley, for the NV Supreme Court, and against Catherine Cortez-Masto and changed his registration recently just because he saw another opening to get himself in the papers and some more of the publicity he thrives on and the narcissism he displays every single day!

I am no fan of David Roger, but Democrats should not be fooled by Don Chariez; he is a phony and a Democratic Party interloper.
One of our Dem workhorses had the best idea I’ve heard in a long time; this is the race Barbara Buckley should enter to extinguish Chairez and chase him out of the party and help our other candidates!

Assembly District 08 candidate Kevin Child is another lifelong Republican who changed his registration to Democrat last year and has been a perennial GOP candidate too.
His last GOP race was in 2008 as a Republican for the same seat:

Seeing opportunity in taking termed out Speaker Barbara Buckley’s current seat, he pulled the old switcheroo and now calls himself a ‘Democrat’.
But, an always paranoid Barbara Buckley did absolutely nothing to grow the district and build within it a Democratic organization which leaves the seat very vulnerable to Child winning because voters are used to seeing his name and are lazy in primaries and don’t do their homework.
Knowing that in this particular district, adding the element of race into the race will have some resonance, they’re not so subtly reminding voters that one of his opponents, Jason Frierson, is a black man, and the other, Jesse Cantero, is an Hispanic!
Both men are real Democrats!
Few doubt that should he win, Kevin Child will magically become a Republican again!
Imagine losing the Speaker’s seat to a Republican posing as a Dem!
This is his campaign motto directly from his website:
“He’s politically honest … not politically correct.”
Really? The facts on the ground would seem to contradict that.
Then he goes on to tell us that ‘Our volunteer base is growing daily as citizens have found a voice and renewed sense of hope through Kevin Child’s “NO BS, ZERO TOLERANCE APPROACH” to government.’
Too bad that he doesn’t also include his 2010 campaign under that threshold!
That is some giant set of gonads there, huh? Kevin Child is one of the most fundamentally dishonest people in the entire state of Nevada!
Democrats will have to spend tens of thousands of dollars educating their own voters in this district if they are going to beat GOPer in Dem clothing, Kevin Child in 2010.

In the same vein, but different approach, Republican Tim Williams switched his race from AD18 where he lost badly last time and was prepared to try again this year up until about a month ago, when he switched his ‘residence’ to AD05, to run against real Republican Tibi Ellis in the primary.
The problem is that the address on his filings is actually his employer, Rossum Realty Unlimited’s, business address when Williams really lives on Boulder Falls in AD18.

Picking up on an effort by one person in the ClarkGOP to discredit Ms Ellis’ position on illegal immigration–she’s against it!–Williams very recently and very cynically, changed his ‘official’ residence to AD05 and filed to run there instead of his true residence in AD18.

Ms Ellis is a decade’s long legal immigrant to the United States from Venezuela and is a successful business person who has long participated in GOP efforts; her stalwart efforts on behalf of other GOP candidates are well known.
Ms Ellis is the real Republican and the real resident of AD05 and has earned her spot to run, and her party’s affection.

Gadfly and general irritant to everyone in both parties, Edward ‘Mr Clean’ Hamilton, is running against Senator Harry Reid as a Democrat this year. I like Ed and speak to him whenever I see him; he is an interesting person to talk to, but Ed Hamilton is no Democrat and will peel away thousands of anti-Harry Reid protest votes from ill-informed voters in the primary! We met several months ago for him to explain to me why after his just voting for Senator John McCain, and previously running as a Republican against Shelley Berkley and against John Ensign in a primary, that he’s suddenly a Democrat.
Ed Hamilton is no Democrat!

He had no credible answer, so I told him if he really believed he had a place at the table, that he should run as an independent this November.
He filed as a Democrat the other day.
Ed is the oddest of oddballs; he is exceptionally bright, but his issues aren’t politically philosophical, they’re anti-power for whoever may be in power, and that’s why he takes on the establishment in both parties.
In a twist, his spouse Sylvia Hamilton, is a nice person—funny too—and could be elected to anything, though she has no interest in public office!
Again, be careful what you wish/vote for in 2010. Don Chairez, Kevin Child, Tim Williams, and Ed Hamilton are not what they appear to be.
