Sidebar: No, Gary N Jacobs wasn’t actually ‘fired’ from ‘MGM-Dubai World’—though he is the guy who decided that partnering with Dubai World was the best option for the company—no one is ‘fired’ in corporate America; they fail upward!  Gary Jacobs, like Moses before him, was denied the ‘Promised Land’ by leaving the day before Aria opened in a failed attempt to signal to Wall Street analysts that all is well at ‘MGM-Dubai World’.

It’s not.

Right Direction Files: Congrats to the LV Sun’s Bryan Allison—maybe there is a kernel of hope at GMG?—the kid does have some talent and it looks to me like they promoted him to increase the value of the company for sale to Jim Rogers who, like Brian Greenspun, knows nothing about web-based platforms…(or much of anything else really).

Allison is expected to cross promote the GMG brands and sell ad space across the brands which unbelievably, has never happened at GMG!

You’d have thought Vegas.com and LV Weekly would be natural partners?    No ads or links in either promote the other.  Let’s hope for a flood of nothing but ads across all of the platforms…hell, give ‘em away if you have to, to get the ball rolling.

Sell it in one place and copy it for free for the client in another to enhance their ad buys as it costs nothing to upload a web-ad!

Then watch the positive client reaction!  Call me anytime for advice Bryan!

Speaking of costs, Mr Allison is going to have to get out the machete too; 500 people to produce Vegas.com? Good Lord, was that a misprint?  What are they running, a media flop-house?  Easily 25% (I think 40% is better though!) of that staffing should be shown the door.

Listen you knuckleheads, Beck is an entertainer, a huckster, and a turd, and no one to base a party—or a wing of a party—on, but you’ll have to learn this yourselves, I guess.  In the interim, please brush up on what real conservatism and Republicanism is all about.

I’m  a Goo-Goo: I’ve always been a goo-goo—a good government guy—and sure I support Rory Reid’s read on a ‘Foundation of Rust’…ooops, I mean Trust, however, it is really lacking any semblance of teeth, is missing electronic donation reporting within 48 hours, and missing strengthening, including mandatory jail, for those who blow off ethics and campaign laws.

President Obama yells at Senator Reid

It’s a Dogpile: Sure, the Healthcare ‘reform’ bill reforms nothing and is a huge insurance industry giveaway we told you it would be last fall, but I think Rep Dina Titus can safely vote ‘no’ and save her seat a bit, because the bill is nothing she would have ever imagined.

She’s in some trouble today.

Abortion and immigration can still kill the bill, and if it does get signed, the Dem US House is gone in 2010 and 6-9 Dem US Senate seats are gone too; so yes, I do think Dina will come up with a credible reason to vote ‘no’.

I can’t see how Dina Titus could ever support the Nelson Abortion Compromise language; look for her to bail and withdrawal her support based on that sexist, ‘second-class’ citizen language.

Harry Reid gave away everything and got next to nothing in return!

That’s not negotiation; that’s capitulation!

He’s loaded the GOP’s cannons for 2010 that will bring the US House down and his seat too—wait ‘til the media starts tearing into this.  It looks like there will be a court challenge and look for the US Supremes to rule on its overall constitutionality, and some apparently unconstitutional provisions currently in this hot-mess of a bill.

Who didn’t love Fester?  I’d vote for him any day and the people of Minnesota did when they elected Jesse Ventura!

We’ll write more about it once we know what the final version looks like, but you people thinking the President signs it and then on to other things, are fooling yourselves.

This will fester all next year and beyond; and we’re not talking Uncle Fester either!

You heard it here first: The US House is already gone for the Dems in 2010…more on that next year!
